Caring for Your Handmade Ceramics

Our stoneware is fired hard and glazed to be tough, so day-to-day care is simple. Most pieces are perfectly happy in the dishwasher and microwave, though washing by hand is always the gentlest option and keeps glazes looking their best for longest.

A few simple habits

  • Avoid sudden temperature shocks — don’t move a piece straight from the freezer to a hot oven.
  • Let an empty piece warm up gradually rather than blasting it with heat.
  • If an unglazed foot ever feels rough, a quick rub with fine sandpaper smooths it.

Handmade ceramics are made to be used, not shut away. A few small kindnesses will keep yours beautiful for many years — and every year it lasts is part of what makes choosing handmade worthwhile.

Every purchase changes a life

Each piece you buy funds skills training and fair-paid work for a maker who needed the chance — beautiful ceramics, with a purpose.
